GuildIt offers visibility and connections to Kansas City Art Entrepreneurs
Inaugural event is Thursday, May 21, at the Kauffman Foundation

(Kansas City MO) – On Thursday, May 21, at noon GuildIt will launch a bi-monthly series of programs for Art Entrepreneurs in Kansas City. The format is two local artists will present specific aspects of their business models to their peers. These presentations are followed by question and answer sessions in which ideas are exchanged and connections are made. The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation will host the GuildIt presentations.

The goal of GuildIt is to provide a forum for the local arts scene to connect with the purpose of building strong art related businesses. Attending artists will exchange ideas and strategies, while strengthening the community and finding inspiration in their peers. It is an opportunity for the Kansas City arts community to refine their business models, share their successes, and increase their networks.

GuildIt founder Susana Bruhn says there are many benefits to collaboration, “Its an opportunity to not only share your art, but to talk about your art business and to resolve challenges in running your business.”

GuildIt is modeled after the popular One Million Cups events held at the Kauffman Foundation. The difference is that the GuildIt forum will focus solely art and art entrepreneurs. Following Thursday’s event, the GuildIt forum will be held on the first and third Thursday of the each month.
