Their talents deserve even more recognition
Jade Green is part of The Black Creatures, a hip-hop musical duo. In the last five years, they have curated over 80 episodes of their weekly “Thirsty Thursday” YouTube series, began a monthly One Hour Song Challenge video, started a Patreon account, become signed artists to Center Cut Records, gained over 1,100 followers on Instagram, and have performed at nearly one hundred venues. Sheri Hall is a highly decorated writer and performance artist and founder of East of Red ArtHouse. She has four books, Her book “Writing to Heal” won a Bike for the Brain award. She is the 2020 National Spoken Word Awards Female Artist of the Year, 2019 Charlotte Street Performing Artist Awardee and previous Studios Resident, plus an Arts KC Inspiration Grant recipient. Jason Piggie is a writer, director, producer, cinematographer, and photographer. He is also the 2019 recipient of a Rocket Grants Award. Jason has won 1st place at the 3/5/7 Film Festival in the 5 Minute Category for his short film entitled, “The Stuff” and won 1st place at 2012 ArtsKC best in show for the short film entitled “The Bum”.
